in New York, minimum wage is $7.25, and it’s probably one hell of a lot more expensive to live here than Chicago

It is what it is. Things won’t get better until the global economy. Not everyone can be well off. I don’t care what anyone says; there has to be have-nots for there to be haves. I’m ok with not having because I live in a place where I can become something else. I ain’t down to be China where the disparity is even bigger and the floor even lower.
Wow, so, we can’t increase the minimum wage and protect the health of the American public because then we’d turn into China. As usual, top-notch logical reasoning skills from the Libertarian crowd.
(By the way, China has no minimum wage. And workers get an average of 11 days off per year, which is less than the 12 we get in the U.S. So increasing the minimum wage and giving workers more paid time off would make us LESS like China, not more. I know. I know. Fact-checking. It’s a whole thing we’re all doing now.)
